A joyful, creative space for young musicians
Write, Play, Perform is a small-group music workshop where kids explore songwriting, rhythm, melody, and music-making together in a fun, supportive environment. Through games, collaboration, and creative play, students build confidence and discover the joy of making music as a group.
No prior music or songwriting experience is needed — just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to try!

FAQ
Is this workshop suitable for shy or quiet kids?
Absolutely. Many children come in feeling hesitant, and that’s completely okay. The Kids Edition emphasizes play, encouragement, and group activities that help students build confidence naturally, without being put on the spot.
Will my child be expected to perform solo?
No. Any sharing or performing is optional and often happens as a group. The focus is on participation and enjoyment, not perfection.
How many students are in the class?
Class sizes are kept small — typically 6 to 8 students — so everyone gets support and plenty of time to participate.
How much structure vs. free play is there?
Classes have a gentle structure to help kids feel safe and grounded, paired with creative freedom through games, movement, and musical exploration.
What happens if my child misses a class?
No worries. They can jump back in at the next session. Each week’s activities are flexible enough that no one will fall behind.
Is there a performance at the end?
Yes! We’ll finish the 6-week series with a relaxed open-stage sharing for friends and family. Students can perform solo, in small groups, or with the full ensemble — whatever feels right.
Where should we park, and which entrance do we use?
Parking is available behind Laurier Baptist Church, and the main entrance is also located at the back of the building. Please use this entrance for drop-off and pick-up. It’s well-marked and easy to access from the parking area.
